William Kwak
Principal
Will Kwak serves as a Principal at Highland Street Capital and is responsible for all aspects of acquisition, capital formation and asset management activities. He has nearly 10 years of experience in real estate private equity and institutional capital markets and has closed over $1.0 billion of real estate private equity transactions.
Prior to Highland Street, Mr. Kwak served as a key member of the investment team at Brookfield Asset Management ($275.0 billion Global Real Estate AUM), focusing on core/core+, value-add and opportunistic multifamily single-asset and portfolio acquisitions across the United States. He also had responsibility for the asset management of a Texas multifamily portfolio totaling over 1,750 units. Prior to Brookfield, Mr. Kwak worked at BentallGreenOak (“BGO”) and The Carlyle Group where he focused on executing value-add and opportunistic real estate private equity transactions globally and across various property types. Mr. Kwak began his career in the Investment Banking Divisions of J.P. Morgan and Macquarie where he was actively involved in dozens of capital markets and M&A transactions.
Mr. Kwak graduated from The Hotel School at Cornell University with a B.S. in Hotel Administration.
